Providence, RI: DONATE YOUR OLD BIKE JUNE 14th TO SUPPORT BIKE BUILDING CLASS FOR VETERANS
Got an unused bicycle sitting in your garage, taking up space? Donate it this June at The City of Providence’s VetCycle Bike Drive!
The VetCycle Bike Drive will be held on June 14th from 1-3pm, hosted by Providence VetCorps and Brown’s Office of Student Veteran and Commissioning Programs at the Brown University Campus Center, 75 Waterman Street, Providence, RI.
Your donated bicycle will go to veterans and their families who are participating in our free VetCycle Build-a-Bike Classes. These classes, brought about by a partnership between Recycle-A-Bike and Providence VetCorps, a project of Mayor Angel Taveras’ Healthy Communities Office, begin in late June and need your unwanted bicycle. Through refurbishing and rebuilding your donated bicycle with the help of Recycle-A-Bike’s trained mechanics, Veterans and their family members will learn bicycle maintenance and safe riding. Support is also being provided for the bike drive by Lawton Moving and Storage and Brown University.
So drop off your bike at this City of Providence event and tell all your friends, family members, and neighbors.
